Char Siew Bun

This is the 2nd item we bake today... yup.. its char siew again.. but its bun not bao... hahaha.
Told TST this round she have to knead the dough liao.. my hand very tired... so her turn... hehehe...

This is TST trying to knead on the floor instead... :D


After proofing and glaze with egg wash so ready to go into the oven..


Ding ding.... fresh from oven...


Our collection for the day.... hmmm not too bad huh... hehehe


Here's the recipe!!

Sweet bun dough:

Ingredients:
500gm High protein flour / bread flour
1.5 tsp Instant yeast
100gm Castor sugar
1 tsp Salt
1/2 tsp Bread improver (optional)
270ml Water
50gm Butter / margarine

Filling: refer here.
Glaze: 1 egg lightly beaten with a pinch of salt.

Methods:
  1. Mix flour, yeast, sugar, salt, bread improver and water and knead the dough till it can be pull into thin sheet without tearing.
  2. Add in butter and knead till well combined and smooth.
  3. Place dough in a lightly greased large bowl and cover with wet cloth. Set aside to prove till double in size.
  4. Punch out the air and knead again till smooth.
  5. Set aside to rest for 15min before using.
  6. Wrap the filling with the bun dough. Place on a grease pan and leave to prove till double in size.
  7. Glaze with egg brush and bake in preheat over at 180C-200C for 15-20min.

I give up oh.. really no energy to knead the dough lor...
Anyway the char siew bun taste nice and I ate alot :p

hahaha... that's y now u understand when I say my hand damn tired liao leh...

Gald u like it... but i think the taste is a bit salty when it is cold.. next time i must remember no need to add any extra seasoning :p
