Went to watch this movie with hubby today. In general this movie is just so so only as the ending is just very very normal and nothing too explosive compared to its name. However, I must say Keanu Reeves is really very very the handsome and gorgeous.. with nice strong and masculine body I have to say.. hihihihi.... in this movie he really looks good and cool...
- Synopsis of movie: This movie is about aliens sent to earth to monitor and observe man kind to see if they are doing anything to protect mother earth so that survival of species can be ensure. However, man kind are very destruction is some send and cause the alien Klaatu (Keanu Reeves) to take the steps to order for the destruction of man kind to preserve and ensure that mother earth lives on so that others species can continue to live on. However at the very last moment, Klaatu manage to feel and be convince by Dr. Helen a widowed & step mother of a boy that there is actually still hope for mother earth as there is still kindness, goodness and loves that still flowing some where around man kind that are worth to preserve despite all the bad & ugly things that have been going around man kind.
So finally he call a halt to the destruction and left earth and when he & his companions around the globe left, that moment, for just that moment the whole world just stood still all power supply & cars and so on just stop except for the sound of natures, with all the birds singing and peacefulness... a wash of peacefullness just brush over the whole world... & that's "the day the earth stood still"
Anyway back to the movie, even though the movie is just normal only but I find that there is a lot in this movie for us to think about. It really does reflect the things have been going on around us in today's world. Where there is a lot of war, fighting, killing, crimes and destroying of mother earth that has been growing at an increasing rate over the past 8-10years especially with the George Bush becoming US president and start off all the wars which he claims to be trying to protect the world from violence which if you ask me is more like an excuse for him to fulfill his dream of conquering the world.... I mean with their intervention, it make those country situations even worst... and also all those crimes that have been going on like killing own father over a cigarette...
sigh.. don't know what is going on in our world and what kind of world will we be having in the future. If man kind continue on like this, I do believe end of the world will really come and that is not because of anything that prophecy say so or so & so predicted what and what... but it is more of the doing of man kind that caused mother nature to rebel and take back what she have been giving to us so generously over so many million years. It is we, the human who brought the destruction to our self and nobody Else's fault. Not because god wants to punish us but is rather because we the human choose to follow this path. Maybe its time for man kind to wake up and realise and change before it is too late. Just like in the movie there's still hope if only man kind are willing to look and work for it.
