Baked Chestnut (Fung Loot)

This is the first part of my baking spree and am starting it off with this bake chestnut.

I happen to stumble upon the recipe to make this few days ago and was thinking of trying it out since my family like this a lot. So when I saw it at Jaya33, so I grab the opportunity and buy some to try out. This is actually the simpler version of the Chestnut that you get at the roadside where they cook it using pebbles in a big wok. But the taste is equally nice & cost is definitely cheaper :)

The only thing is I find that the texture of the outer layer of the chestnut is a bit hard. My guess is because it is directly exposed to the heat unlike the conventional type where it is still protected fully by the shell. Anyway will try again next round without slitting it :)
